Family Time

What a great long weekend. Braais, good food, friends and of course the best yet - FAMILY! Not only have my parents been to stay but number one son, Craig, has been home too. The girls (and Daddy) have been in their element. They have been a constant shadow!

Had a great breakfast this morning with more friends. The type of friends you have that live close by BUT just never get to see. So sad. But we caught up this morning.

The kids at Eden on the Bay this morning.
We had some fun this afternoon - I managed to set up a make-shift studio and take some family pics. Not too shabby and this one of Craig I LOVE!

Birthday party fun

Well we have made it through the morning - the concert at the little school Football Frenzy - and then into the late morning for Emma Jo's birthday party (yes its a week early but next week its school holidays!)

Thanks to Maureen, Adelle, Margaret and Karen (and all the supporting staff) for the concert. It was very koel and the kids had an awesome time. They sang their little hearts out. All dressed in soccer shirts, with flags and vuvvzelas. It was wonderful. Their rendition of the national anthem, lead by 5 year old Siwe (yes, he sang a solo and sang it perfectly) was great. As was Wakka Wakka and Wave your Flag. Brilliant.

Although the kids managed to swim at EJ's party (thanks to all who took part in the "sunshine dance"), it is now raining.... Boo hoo.

So we now have 15 or 16 (won't sit still for me to count) kids inside watching a movie. Well allegedly watching a movie. They are also eating cupcakes with blue icing and sprinkles  (thanks mom for your help!)

And Dad, well after cooking three packs of boerewors for the children, he dashed off to fetch number 1 son, Craig, from the airport as he is flying in to spend the weekend with us. Lucky for him, he arrives as the party if over. Hmmm... good planning or just flight schedules?!

So I'm hiding on the computer watching and listening to the children. Tonight I'm off out with my friends for our monthly Penny Pinchers supper. Wonder who will win tonight?

Thanks for visiting and hope to see you soon

And so the day begins

I think today thought it was Monday... My day began with being stuck IN the garage as the garage door almost closed, but not quite. The great thing about automatic door openers is they have an over-ride switch for when the power fails. Which is good. When they work.

Anyway, to cut a long story short, I had to get my dear long suffering friend (who incidentally just last week had to rescue me when my car battery died - another story completely) to divert her early mornign walk with her Father to come past my house so her Dad could help me... Seems I'm just a little too short to operate the over-ride janking cord type thing...

But it just goes to show - Wuvly bought expensive new glasses this month, so the universe it punishing him. A new car battery; the spare TV in Grandad's lounge is going in today for repairs; the garage door motor... At least that's three things. Phew. Maybe its over.

On a lighter note, have a look at one of my cards from yesterday's creative dash: Hope you like it

Chat to you soon- thanks for stopping by
